Hatsune Miku is a Japanese virtual singer and one of the most recognizable characters in the world of Vocaloid. She was created by Crypton Future Media and officially released on August 31, 2007, as a singing voice synthesizer powered by Yamaha's Vocaloid software. Her voice is based on Japanese voice actress Saki Fujita. Miku is known for her iconic turquoise twin-tails, futuristic outfit, and cheerful personality. Her name can be translated as "The First Sound of the Future." Her official character profile describes her as a 16-year-old girl, standing at 158 cm tall, with a turquoise color scheme. Unlike traditional singers, Miku does not have a real-life singing voice. Instead, her voice is generated using voice-synthesizing technology, allowing music producers and fans to create original songs with her voice. Over the years, Hatsune Miku has become a global phenomenon. Thousands of creators have composed songs for her, covering genres such as pop, rock, electronic, metal, and many others. She has also performed at international concerts as a 3D holographic projection, accompanied by live musicians. Today, Hatsune Miku is more than just a virtual singer. She is a cultural icon who represents creativity, music, technology, and the connection between artists and fans around the world.
